Hebrews 7:11

So the Levites were the preachers of the Code of the Law, but obviously this code didn't make anyone perfect. That's why God came along and took us down the trail to perfection that Mel had started instead of continuing to follow the one that Levi and Aaron took.

I mean, if that first agreement between God and his people was perfect, then there wouldn't be a need for another agreement.

But God knew his people wouldn't be able to follow the old trail, and really, that was the whole point. That's why he said, "There's a day coming when I'll shake hands with the people of Israel and Judah and show them a new trail.

But this is the new agreement I'm going to make with Israel and Judah. I'll write my code on their hearts and brand it into their brains. I'm going to be their God and they're going to be my cowboys.

They won't need to teach their neighbors or their kin. They won't have to say, 'Know God.' There'll never be another excuse for not knowing me. Everyone from top hands to wannabes will know me already.

When God says he made a new agreement, it means the old one has been replaced, not added to. It has served its purpose and will soon disappear like an old trail nobody walks anymore.

In here was a golden smoker and chest of God. The chest was covered in gold and inside was a jar of angel food (manna), Aaron's staff that had flowers sprouting from it, and the stone tablets that had the agreement written on them.

These things were just used in various religious ceremonies for purification and stuff. God chose this way until his true plan was set into action.

But Christ came riding in as the last high priest, the final trail boss. His way is good and better for all of us. He didn't go through a tent to get to God, he was one with God.
Hebrews 9:14

But the blood of Christ washes us all clean, inside and out. By the power of the Holy Ghost, Jesus offered himself up as the final sacrifice and cleansed our consciences from the sorry deeds we've done. Now that we are free and pure, we can ride for the living God.

Moses passed along every command God had given him to the people. After that, he took the blood of goats and cows and sprinkled it on the book to seal the agreement.
