As they remember their children,So they remember their altars and their AsherimBy green trees on the high hills.

Therefore, give their children over to famineAnd deliver them up to the power of the sword;And let their wives become childless and widowed.Let their men also be smitten to death,Their young men struck down by the sword in battle.

Their children also will be as formerly,And their congregation shall be established before Me;And I will punish all their oppressors.

Thus says Yahweh,"A voice is heard in Ramah,Wailing and bitter weeping.Rachel is weeping for her children;She refuses to be comforted for her childrenBecause they are no more."

And there is hope for your future," declares Yahweh,"And your children will return to their own territory.

who shows lovingkindness to thousands, but repays the iniquity of fathers into the bosom of their children after them, O great and mighty God. Yahweh of hosts is His name,

and I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me always, for their own good and for the good of their children after them.

Because of the noise of the galloping hoofs of his valiant steeds,The quaking of his chariots, and the tumult of his wheels,The fathers have not turned back for their children,Because of the limpness of their hands,

For these things I am weeping;My eyes run down with water;Because far from me is a comforter,One who restores my soul.My children are desolateBecause the enemy has prevailed."

The hands of compassionate womenBoiled their own children;They became food for themBecause of the destruction of the daughter of my people.

I am sending you to them who are stiff-faced and strong-hearted children, and you shall say to them, ‘Thus says Lord Yahweh.'

Moreover, I will send on you famine and wild beasts, and they will bereave you of children; plague and bloodshed also will pass through you, and I will bring the sword on you. I, Yahweh, have spoken.'"

"If I were to cause wild beasts to pass through the land and they bereaved it of children and it became desolate so that no one would pass through it because of the beasts,

You slaughtered My children and gave them up to idols by causing them to pass through the fire.

You are the daughter of your mother, who loathed her husband and children. You are also the sister of your sisters, who loathed their husbands and children. Your mother was a Hittite and your father an Amorite.

"I said to their children in the wilderness, ‘Do not walk in the statutes of your fathers and do not keep their judgments and do not defile yourselves with their idols.

But the children rebelled against Me; they did not walk in My statutes, nor were they careful to do My judgments, which, if a man does them, he will live by them; they profaned My sabbaths. So I said I would pour out My wrath on them, to spend My anger against them in the wilderness.

For when they had slaughtered their children for their idols, they entered My sanctuary on the same day to profane it; and behold, thus they did within My house.

And I will cause men—My people Israel—to walk on you and possess you so that you will become their inheritance and never again bereave them of children.'

"Thus says Lord Yahweh, ‘Because they say to you, "You are a devourer of men and have bereaved your nation of children,"
