The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit, that we are children of God:

and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with [him], that we may be also glorified with [him].

that the creation itself also shall be delivered from the slavery of corruption into the liberty of the glory of the children of God.

neither, because they are Abraham's seed, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall your seed be called.

That is, it is not the children of the flesh that are children of God; but the children of the promise are reckoned for a seed.

for [the children] not being yet born, neither having done anything good or bad, that the purpose of God according to election might stand,

I do not write these things to shame you, but to admonish you as my beloved children.

For the unbelieving husband is sanctified in the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified in the brother: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.

Brothers, don't be children in mind: yet in malice be babes, but in mind be men.

Now for a recompense in like kind (I speak as to [my] children), be also enlarged.

Look, this is the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will not be a burden to you: for I don't seek yours, but you: for the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children.

So we also, when we were children, were being made slaves under the rudiments of the world:

My children, of whom I am again in travail until Christ be formed in you-

Which things contain an allegory: for these [women] are two covenants; one from mount Sinai, bearing children to slavery, which is Hagar.

Now this Hagar is mount Sinai in Arabia and answers to the Jerusalem that now is: for she works as a slave along with her children.

For it is written, Rejoice, you barren that do not bear; Break forth and cry, you that do not travail: For more are the children of the desolate than of her that has the husband.

Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise.

Therefore, brothers, we are not children of a slave woman, but of the free woman.

among whom we also all once lived in the desire of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest:-

that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error;
