Look, happy is [the] common man whom God corrects: Therefore don't despise the chastening of the Almighty.

For the arrows of the Almighty are inside me, The poison whereof my spirit drinks up: The terrors of God set themselves in array against me.

Oh that I might have my request; And that God would grant [me] the thing that I long for!

Even that it would please God to crush me; That he would let loose his hand, and cut me off!

Does God pervert justice? Or does the Almighty pervert righteousness?

If you would seek diligently to God, And make your supplication to the Almighty;

So are the paths of all that forget God; And the hope of the godless man shall perish:

Look, God will not cast away a perfect man, Neither will he uphold the evil-doers.

Of a truth I know that it is so: But how can common man be just with God?

God will not withdraw his anger; The helpers of Rahab stoop under him.

I will say to God, Do not condemn me; Show me why you contend with me.

But oh that God would speak, And open his lips against you,

And that he would show you the secrets of wisdom! For he is manifold in understanding. Know therefore that God exacts of you less than your iniquity deserves.

Can you by searching find out God? Can you find out the Almighty to perfection?

I am as one that is a laughing-stock to his neighbor, I who called on God, and he answered: The just, the perfect man is a laughing-stock.

The tents of robbers prosper, And those that provoke God are secure; Into whose hand God brings [abundantly].

With [God] is wisdom and might; He has counsel and understanding.

Surely I would speak to the Almighty, And I desire to reason with God.

Will you speak unrighteously for God, And talk deceitfully for him?

Will you show partiality to him? Will you contend for God?
