Yet listen now to what I am about to say in your hearing and in the hearing of all the people.

"This is what the Lord says: ‘You say of this place, "It is a waste, without man or animal." Yet in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem that are laid waste, with no man or animal living in them, there will again be heard

"The Lord of All says, ‘This place is now a waste, without man or animal. Yet there will again be shepherds living in this place and in all its cities who can care for their sheep.

Yet hear the Word of the Lord, O Zedekiah king of Judah! The Lord says this about you: ‘You will not die by the sword.

Yet you turned and sinned against My name. Each man took back his male and female servant whom you had set free to go where they wished. And you brought them under your power again to be your male and female servants.'

"The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, telling his sons not to drink wine, are obeyed. They do not drink wine to this day, for they have obeyed their father. But I have spoken to you again and again, yet you have not listened to Me.

Now Jeremiah was still free to come and go among the people, for they had not yet put him in prison.

Yet I sent you all My servants who spoke for Me again and again, saying, "O, do not do this very sinful thing which I hate!"

Yet I will return the people of Moab to their land in the last days," says the Lord. This is the punishment of Moab.

"The Lord is right and good, yet I have not wanted to obey His Word. Listen now, all you people, and see my suffering. My pure young women and young men have been taken away to a strange land.

Let him put his mouth in the dust. There may be hope yet.

Yet if you have told the right and good man of the danger of his sinning, and he does not sin, he will live for sure because he listened to you. And you will have saved yourself."

I will spread My net over him, and he will be caught in My trap. I will bring him to Babylon in the land of the Babylonians, yet he will not see it. And he will die there.

They have lied and have spoken false words using their secret ways, saying, ‘This is what the Lord says,' when the Lord has not sent them. Yet they hope that what they say will come true.

Yet there will be some people and their children left alive in it who will be brought out. When they come to you, see how sinful they are. Then you will know that all the trouble I brought upon Jerusalem was right.

I will set My face against them. Even if they get away from the fire, the fire will yet destroy them. Then you will know that I am the Lord, when I set My face against them.

I made you become many, like plants of the field. Then you grew up and became tall. You grew into a beautiful woman. You had breasts and your hair had grown. Yet you were not covered and your body could be seen.

You did many sex sins with Babylon, the land of those who trade. Yet even this was not enough for you.

Yet you have walked in their ways and done their hated acts. As if that were too little, you acted worse in all your ways than they.

"Yet you say, ‘Why should the son not suffer for the father's sin?' Since the son has done what is right and good, and has kept and obeyed all My Laws, he will live for sure.
