And while he also was yet speaking, there came another, and said: The Chaldeans made three troops, and have fallen upon the camels, and taken them; moreover, they have slain the servants with the sword: and I alone have escaped to tell thee.

He was yet speaking, and behold another came in, and said: Thy sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in the house of their eldest brother,

And the Lord said to Satan: Behold, he is in thy hand, but yet save his life.

Yet if thou wilt arise early to God, and wilt beseech the Almighty:

When it is yet in flower, and is not plucked u with the hand, it withereth before all herbs.

Yet thou shalt plunge me in filth, and my garments shall abhor me.

Although thou conceal these things in thy heart, yet I know that thou rememberest all things.

But yet I will speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God.

Although he should kill me, I will trust in him: but yet I will reprove my ways in his sight.

But yet his flesh, while he shall live, shall have pain, and his soul shall mourn over him.

He shall be punished for all that he did, and yet shall not be consumed: according to the multitude of his devices so also shall he suffer.

And yet his belly was not filled: and when he hath the things he coveted, he shall not be able to possess them.

Yet because their good things are not in their hand, may the counsel of the wicked be far from me.

And yet they shall sleep together in the dust, and worms shall cover them.

If I had a mind to go to them, I sat first, and when I sat as a king, with his army standing about him, yet I was a comforter of them that mourned.

But yet thou stretchest not forth thy hand to their consumption: and if they shall fall down thou wilt save.

But yet let not my wonder terrify thee, and let not my eloquence be burdensome to thee.

Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee: for I have yet somewhat to speak in God’s behalf.

He looks all mighty [beasts of prey] in the face [without terror]; he is monarch over all the sons of pride. [And now, Job, [fn] who are you who dares not arouse the unmastered crocodile, yet who dares resist Me, the beast’s Creator, to My face? Everything under the heavens is Mine; therefore, who can have a claim against God?]

(31-6) For this shall every one that is holy pray to thee in a seasonable time. And yet in a flood of many waters, they shall not come nigh unto him.
