Now I am going back to my people, but come, let me warn you what this people will do to your people in the days to come."

But the LORD said to me, "Tell them not to go up and fight, for I am not with you to keep you from defeat by your enemies."

Hear now, O Israel, the statutes and ordinances I am teaching you to follow so that you may live, enter, and take possession of the land that the LORD, the God of your fathers, is giving you.

You must not add to or subtract from what I command you, so that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God that I am giving you.

Keep His statutes and commandments, which I am giving you today, so that you and your children after you may prosper, and that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you for all time."

"I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.

You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on their children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,

But you stand here with Me, that I may speak to you all the commandments and statutes and ordinances you are to teach them to follow in the land I am giving them to possess."

These words I am commanding you today are to be upon your hearts.

So keep the commandments and statutes and ordinances that I am giving you to follow this day.

You must carefully follow every command I am giving you today, so that you may live and multiply, and enter and possess the land the LORD swore to your fathers.
