IN Judah is God known; his name is great in Israel.

Their hands prevailed not because of thy rebuke, O God of Jacob; the horsemen are cast into a dead sleep.

When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth.

Vow and fulfil thy vows to the LORD thy God; let all that be round about him bring presents to him who is to be revered.

I CRIED to God with my voice, and he heard me; I have lifted up my voice to him, and he answered me.

When I remembered, O God, I was troubled; I meditated, and my spirit was overwhelmed.

Has God forgotten to be gracious? has he in anger shut up his tender mercies?

Thy way, O God, is holy; there is none so great as our God.

Thou art the God that doest wonders; thou hast declared thy strength among the people.

The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid; the depths also were troubled.

That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments;

And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not steadfast with God.

For they kept not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in his law;

And they tempted God in their hearts by asking food to satisfy their desires.

Yea, they complained against God; they said, Can God furnish tables of food in the wilderness?

Because they believed not in God and trusted not in his salvation:

The anger of God came upon them and slew the richest of them, and made to bow the chosen men of Israel.

And they remembered that God was their helper, and the high God their Saviour.

Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and defied the Holy One of Israel.

Yet they tempted and provoked the most High God, and kept not his testimonies;
