Genesis 22:4 — the third day. No. 3. Symb. of resurrection ( App-10 ). Compare Genesis 22:5 , "Come again, "1st pers. Plural. Exactly 3 days journey from Beer-sheba to Moriah. Gerizim Isaiah 2:0 days further.
Proverbs 12:5 — thoughts = plans. right = just (as to their character). Isaiah 39:7 — Hezekiah had none as yet, and Jehovah's promise to David (2 Samuel 7:16 ) seemed in danger of failing. Manasseh was not born till the third of the fifteen added years. Hence his reference to this position in the "Songs of the Degrees". See Psalms 127:3-5 ; Psalms 127:3-5 and Psalms 128:0 (quoting in Isaiah 39:5-6 the words in Isaiah 39:8 ). Hezekiah did not marry till after this, and there may be a reference to his marriage to Hephzi-bah in Isaiah 62:4 , which serves as the basis of the comparison
Isaiah 54:4 — Fear not. ashamed. Reference to Pentateuch (Leviticus 26:6 ). Compare Isaiah 44:16 , Isaiah 44:17 . the shame of thy youth. Reference to Israel's days of idolatry. Compare Jeremiah 3:24 , Jeremiah 3:25 .
Jeremiah 3:14 — Turn = Return, as in verses: Jeremiah 3:12 , Jeremiah 3:22 . married = am become your husband. This will be the result of the Restoration here promised. family. Probably a family, or group of cities.
Ezekiel 36:25 — Then . Note the time for the fulfilment of this prophecy. Not now, among the Gentiles; not now, in the Church of God; but, when Israel shall be brought back "into their own land" (verses: Ezekiel 36:16-24 ). Note the "you . . . ye . . . your", &c., of verses: Ezekiel 36:25-29 . Observe the importance of this word "Then" in other passages. See notes on Exodus 17:8 . Malachi 3:4 , Malachi 3:16 . Occurs in 1Ki 6:9 ; 1 Kings 7:3 , 1 Kings 7:7 . Jeremiah 22:14 . Showing that their houses were not only roofed, but wainscotted or decorated. Hebrew = "in your houses [and that too] panelled".
