’ă·ḥaš·wê·rō·wōš;

אֲחַשְׁוֵר֑וֹשׁ

[is] Ahasuerus

’ă·ḥaš·wê·rō·wōš,

אֲחַשְׁוֵר֗וֹשׁ

that reigned

וְעֶשְׂרִ֥ים

[over] a hundred

כְּשֶׁ֣בֶת ׀

when the king

’ă·ḥaš·wê·rō·wōš,

אֲחַשְׁוֵר֗וֹשׁ

on his royal

בְּשׁוּשַׁ֥ן

In the third

of his reign

lə·mā·lə·ḵōw,

and his servants

wa·‘ă·ḇā·ḏāw;

hap·par·tə·mîm

הַֽפַּרְתְּמִ֛ים

of the provinces

ham·mə·ḏî·nō·wṯ

הַמְּדִינ֖וֹת

[being] before

When he showed

bə·har·’ō·ṯōw,

בְּהַרְאֹת֗וֹ

of his majestic

of his royal

of his excellent

gə·ḏūl·lā·ṯōw;

גְּדוּלָּת֑וֹ

[even] a hundred

and were expired

וּבִמְל֣וֹאת ׀

that were present

han·nim·ṣə·’îm

הַנִּמְצְאִים֩

בְּשׁוּשַׁ֨ן

from the greatest

lə·mig·gā·ḏō·wl

לְמִגָּ֧דוֹל

in the court

of the garden

[Where were] white

ū·ṯə·ḵê·leṯ,

[hangings] fastened

wə·’ar·gā·mān,

וְאַרְגָּמָ֔ן

wə·‘am·mū·ḏê

וְעַמּ֣וּדֵי

[were of] gold

and black marble

wə·sō·ḥā·reṯ.

[them] And they gave drink

wə·haš·qō·wṯ

וְהַשְׁקוֹת֙

being diverse

in abundance

according to the state

And the drinking [was]

wə·haš·šə·ṯî·yāh

וְהַשְּׁתִיָּ֥ה

according to the law

had appointed

of his household

that they should do

according to the desires

of according to every man

ham·mal·kāh,

הַמַּלְכָּ֔ה

for the women

in the palace

[in] the royal

ham·mal·ḵūṯ,

הַמַּלְכ֔וּת

[belonged] to king

’ă·ḥaš·wê·rō·wōš.

אֲחַשְׁוֵרֽוֹשׁ׃

haš·šə·ḇî·‘î,

הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔י

when the heart

he commanded

wa·’ă·ḇaḡ·ṯā

וַאֲבַגְתָא֙

chamberlains

has·sā·rî·sîm,

הַסָּ֣רִיסִ֔ים

ham·šā·rə·ṯîm,

הַמְשָׁ֣רְתִ֔ים

in the presence

of Ahasuerus

’ă·ḥaš·wê·rō·wōš.

אֲחַשְׁוֵרֽוֹשׁ׃

הַמַּלְכָּ֛ה

with the crown

with [her] royal

in order to display

lə·har·’ō·wṯ

and the princes

wə·haś·śā·rîm

וְהַשָּׂרִים֙

wat·tə·mā·’ên

הַמַּלְכָּ֣ה

of at the king

[his] chamberlains

has·sā·rî·sîm;

הַסָּרִיסִ֑ים

way·yiq·ṣōp̄

therefore was the king

and his anger

wa·ḥă·mā·ṯōw

la·ḥă·ḵā·mîm

of [was] the king

and judgment

And the next

wə·haq·qā·rōḇ

כַּרְשְׁנָ֤א

hay·yō·šə·ḇîm

הַיֹּשְׁבִ֥ים

in the kingdom ;

bam·mal·ḵūṯ.

בַּמַּלְכֽוּת׃

According to law

la·‘ă·śō·wṯ,

בַּמַּלְכָּ֖ה

do performed

’ă·ḥaš·wê·rō·wōš,

אֲחַשְׁוֵר֔וֹשׁ

the chamberlains

has·sā·rî·sîm.

הַסָּרִיסִֽים׃

and answered

In the presence

and the princes

wə·haś·śā·rîm,

וְהַשָּׂרִ֔ים

ham·mal·kāh;

הַמַּלְכָּ֑ה

in all [are]

the provinces

’ă·ḥaš·wê·rō·wōš.

אֲחַשְׁוֵרֽוֹשׁ׃

shall come abroad

of the queen

הַמַּלְכָּה֙

with contempt

lə·haḇ·zō·wṯ

on their husbands

בַּעְלֵיהֶ֖ן

in their eyes

bə·‘ê·nê·hen;

בְּעֵינֵיהֶ֑ן

bə·’ā·mə·rām,

’ă·ḥaš·wê·rō·wōš

אֲחַשְׁוֵר֡וֹשׁ

to be brought

הַמַּלְכָּ֛ה

in to his presence

wə·hay·yō·wm

תֹּאמַ֣רְנָה ׀

[Likewise] shall the ladies

have heard of

of the queen

ham·mal·kāh,

הַמַּלְכָּ֔ה

in [the same way] to all

[shall there arise] Thus too much

biz·zā·yō·wn

let there go

into the presence him

mil·lə·p̄ā·nāw,

מִלְּפָנָ֔יו

and let it be written

wə·yik·kā·ṯêḇ

of the Persians

and the Medes

ya·‘ă·ḇō·wr;

’ă·ḥaš·wê·rō·wōš,

אֲחַשְׁוֵר֔וֹשׁ

and her royal estate

ū·mal·ḵū·ṯāh

וּמַלְכוּתָהּ֙

let the king

לִרְעוּתָ֖הּ

that is better

haṭ·ṭō·w·ḇāh

mim·men·nāh.

and shall be published

of when the king

he shall make

throughout all

[is] and all

to their husbands

lə·ḇa‘·lê·hen,

לְבַעְלֵיהֶ֔ן

both to great

lə·mig·gā·ḏō·wl

לְמִגָּד֖וֹל

and the princes

wə·haś·śā·rîm;

וְהַשָּׂרִ֑ים

according to the word

וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח

and province

according to its script

כִּכְתָבָ֔הּ

thereof and to every people

and of every people

according to their language

kil·šō·w·nōw;

כִּלְשׁוֹנ֑וֹ

in his own house [it]

that should be published

ū·mə·ḏab·bêr

in the language

of every people
