הַמִּדְבָּ֔ר

wə·has·sə·neh

he turned aside

from the midst

ham·mā·qō·wm,

Moreover he said

of your father

וַיַּסְתֵּ֤ר

he was afraid

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm.

הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃

the affliction

of my people

bə·miṣ·rā·yim;

בְּמִצְרָ֑יִם

ṣa·‘ă·qā·ṯām

I have heard

שָׁמַ֙עְתִּי֙

by reason of

of their taskmasters

of their sufferings

מַכְאֹבָֽיו׃

And I have come down

to deliver them

lə·haṣ·ṣî·lōw

לְהַצִּיל֣וֹ ׀

out of the hand

of the Egyptians

and to bring them up

ū·lə·ha·‘ă·lō·ṯōw

וּֽלְהַעֲלֹתוֹ֮

ū·rə·ḥā·ḇāh,

of the Canaanites

hak·kə·na·‘ă·nî

הַֽכְּנַעֲנִי֙

and the Hittites

wə·ha·ḥit·tî,

וְהַ֣חִתִּ֔י

and the Amorites

wə·hā·’ĕ·mō·rî

וְהָֽאֱמֹרִי֙

and the Perizzites

wə·hap·pə·riz·zî,

וְהַפְּרִזִּ֔י

and the Hivites

wə·ha·ḥiw·wî

and the Jebusites

wə·hay·ḇū·sî.

וְהַיְבוּסִֽי׃

and I have also

the oppression

the Egyptians

and I will send you

wə·’eš·lā·ḥă·ḵā

וְאֶֽשְׁלָחֲךָ֖

that you may bring forth

the children

out of Egypt

mim·miṣ·rā·yim.

מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm,

הָ֣אֱלֹהִ֔ים

I should bring forth

the children

out of Egypt

mim·miṣ·rā·yim.

מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃

[shall be] a sign

have sent you

šə·laḥ·tî·ḵā;

שְׁלַחְתִּ֑יךָ

When you have brought forth

bə·hō·w·ṣî·’ă·ḵā

בְּהוֹצִֽיאֲךָ֤

out of Egypt

mim·miṣ·ra·yim,

מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם

you shall serve

תַּֽעַבְדוּן֙

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm,

הָ֣אֱלֹהִ֔ים

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm,

הָֽאֱלֹהִ֗ים

and shall say

wə·’ā·mar·tî

וְאָמַרְתִּ֣י

of your fathers

’ă·ḇō·w·ṯê·ḵem

אֲבוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם

and they shall say

wə·’ā·mə·rū-

shall you say

shall you say

of your fathers

’ă·ḇō·ṯê·ḵem,

and this [is]

from generation

to generation

wə·’ā·sap̄·tā

וְאָֽסַפְתָּ֞

wə·’ā·mar·tā

וְאָמַרְתָּ֤

of your fathers

’ă·ḇō·ṯê·ḵem

אֲבֹֽתֵיכֶם֙

and of Jacob

wə·ya·‘ă·qōḇ

I have observed

פָּקַ֙דְתִּי֙

what has been done

bə·miṣ·rā·yim.

בְּמִצְרָֽיִם׃

And I have said

I will bring

out of the affliction

of the Canaanites

hak·kə·na·‘ă·nî

הַֽכְּנַעֲנִי֙

and the Hittites

wə·ha·ḥit·tî,

וְהַ֣חִתִּ֔י

and the Amorites

wə·hā·’ĕ·mō·rî

וְהָֽאֱמֹרִי֙

and the Perizzites

wə·hap·pə·riz·zî,

וְהַפְּרִזִּ֔י

and the Hivites

wə·ha·ḥiw·wî

and the Jebusites

wə·hay·ḇū·sî;

וְהַיְבוּסִ֑י

And they shall Listen

to your voice

lə·qō·le·ḵā;

and shall come

and the elders

and you shall say

wa·’ă·mar·tem

וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֤ם

of the Hebrews

hā·‘iḇ·rî·yîm

הָֽעִבְרִיִּים֙

we beseech you

into the wilderness

bam·miḏ·bār,

בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר

that we may sacrifice

wə·niz·bə·ḥāh

וְנִזְבְּחָ֖ה

’ĕ·lō·hê·nū.

אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃

And I will stretch out

wə·šā·laḥ·tî

וְשָׁלַחְתִּ֤י

wə·hik·kê·ṯî

וְהִכֵּיתִ֣י

the Egyptians

nip̄·lə·’ō·ṯay,

נִפְלְאֹתַ֔י

in the midst

בְּקִרְבּ֑וֹ

wə·’a·ḥă·rê-

he will let go

And I will give

wə·nā·ṯat·tî

in the sight

of the Egyptians

and it shall come to pass

empty-handed

But shall borrow

wə·šā·’ă·lāh

of her neighbor

miš·šə·ḵen·tāh

מִשְּׁכֶנְתָּהּ֙

and of her that sojournes

ū·mig·gā·raṯ

in her house

and garments

ū·śə·mā·lōṯ;

and you shall put [them]

וְשַׂמְתֶּ֗ם

your daughers

bə·nō·ṯê·ḵem,

בְּנֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם

and you shall plunder

wə·niṣ·ṣal·tem

וְנִצַּלְתֶּ֖ם
