lə·yiś·rā·’êl

לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל

To those who

But as for me

had well near

I was envious

of the arrogant

ba·hō·wl·lîm;

בַּֽהוֹלְלִ֑ים

the prosperity

of the wicked

[when] I saw

[there are] bands

ḥar·ṣub·bō·wṯ

חַרְצֻבּ֥וֹת

in their death

lə·mō·w·ṯām,

but their strength

[are] in trouble

[as other] men

are they plagued

yə·nug·gā·‘ū.

יְנֻגָּֽעוּ׃

compasses them about as a chain

‘ă·nā·qaṯ·mōw

עֲנָקַ֣תְמוֹ

ya·‘ă·ṭā·p̄ō·ši,-

[as] them a garment

from fatness

they have more

maś·kî·yō·wṯ

מַשְׂכִּיּ֥וֹת

of [their] heart

They are corrupt

wî·ḏab·bə·rū

וִידַבְּר֣וּ

[concerning] oppression

from on high

mim·mā·rō·wm

yə·ḏab·bê·rū.

יְדַבֵּֽרוּ׃

against the heavens

ḇaš·šā·ma·yim

בַשָּׁמַ֣יִם

and their tongue

ū·lə·šō·w·nām,

וּ֝לְשׁוֹנָ֗ם

through the earth

of abundance

[cup] are wrung out

And they say

wə·’ā·mə·rū,

And is there

with the Most

ḇə·‘el·yō·wn.

בְעֶלְיֽוֹן׃

and who prosper

in the world

they increase

I have cleansed

in innocence

bə·niq·qā·yō·wn

בְּנִקָּי֣וֹן

and long have I been

and chastened

wə·ṯō·w·ḵaḥ·tî,

וְ֝תוֹכַחְתִּ֗י

every morning

lab·bə·qā·rîm.

לַבְּקָרִֽים׃

I will speak

’ă·sap·pə·rāh

[against] the generation

of Your children

I should offend

ḇā·ḡā·ḏə·tî.

בָגָֽדְתִּי׃

when I thought

wā·’ă·ḥaš·šə·ḇāh

וָֽ֭אֲחַשְּׁבָה

to understand

into the sanctuary

מִקְדְּשֵׁי־

[then] understood

lə·’a·ḥă·rî·ṯām.

לְאַחֲרִיתָֽם׃

in slippery places

ba·ḥă·lā·qō·wṯ

בַּ֭חֲלָקוֹת

cast them down

hip·pal·tām,

הִ֝פַּלְתָּ֗ם

into destruction

lə·maš·šū·’ō·wṯ.

לְמַשּׁוּאֽוֹת׃

[brought] they into desolation

they are utterly

bal·lā·hō·wṯ.

בַּלָּהֽוֹת׃

[one] when wakes

when You wake

you shall despise

and in my reins

wə·ḵil·yō·w·ṯay,

וְ֝כִלְיוֹתַ֗י

I was pricked

’eš·tō·w·nān.

אֶשְׁתּוֹנָֽן׃

[as] a beast

bə·hê·mō·wṯ,

and Nevertheless I [am]

you have held

[me] by my right

With Your counsel

ba·‘ă·ṣā·ṯə·ḵā

בַּעֲצָתְךָ֥

you shall guide

and afterward

[to] me glory

tiq·qā·ḥê·nî.

תִּקָּחֵֽנִי׃

have I in heaven

ḇaš·šā·mā·yim;

בַשָּׁמָ֑יִם

wə·‘im·mə·ḵā,

[that] I desire

and my heart

[is] the strength

and my portion

lə·‘ō·w·lām.

they who are far

from You shall perish

you have destroyed

hiṣ·mat·tāh,

הִ֝צְמַ֗תָּה

those who go whoring

for me to draw near

[it is] good

that I may declare

mal·’ă·ḵō·w·ṯe·ḵā.

מַלְאֲכוֹתֶֽיךָ׃
