(A.D. 78) παραδεχθήσεται ἡμῖνἀπὸ τοῦ προκειμένου φόρου κατὰ τὸ ἀνάλογον, ";a proportionate allowance shall be made to us from the aforesaid rent"; (Edd.) : so in Syll 329.61 (B.C. 86), and (without τὸ) P Ryl II. 99.7 (iii/A.D.). Cf. Syll 371.12 (i/A.D.) ἀνάλογον πεποίηται τὴν ἐπιδημίαν τῇ. . σεμνότητι. It is open to us to write τὸ ἀνὰ λόγον (Aristotle, etc.), as the editors do in P Ryl II. 154.32 (A.D. 66) κατὰ τὸ ἀ. λ. τ [ῶν μ ]η ̣νῶν. The adjective is only in the first stages of evolution : see LS. The adverb is found in the modern sense ";analogously"; in Wisdom of Solomon 13:5.
