2. dazzle, ὁ ἀνὴρ περιαστράπτεται ὑπὸ κάλλους is dazzled with beauty, Junc. ap. Stob. 4.50.95, cf. Gal. 19.220.

The metaphorical use of this verb = ";broaden,"; ";enlarge,"; as in 2 Corinthians 6:11; 2 Corinthians 6:13, finds at least a partial parallel in a fragment of an ";Index"; of the Digest, PSI I. 55.74 (vi/A.D.) δύνατ (αι) . . . ̣κατ᾽ ἀρχὰς πλατύνεσθ (αι) η ̣̔ ἀ ̣γω (γή).
