רָגַז fut. יִרְגַּז to be moved, disturbed, 2 Samuel 7:10; Isaiah 14:9. (This signification variously applied lies in the primary stock רג, רע, and even רהּ, compare רָגַע, רָגַן, רָהַב ;רָגַשׁ, רָהַם and see below at the root רָעַע. To this agree Sanscr. rag to move oneself, and figuratively rגga, Gr. ὀργή, anger, grief, ῥήσσω (ῥηγω), Germ. regen, and with another letter added at the beginning, frango (fregi, fragor) krachen, etc. To this root, the last letter of which is a sibilant, approach very nearly רָגַשׁ, רָעַשׁ which see.) Specially

(l) to be moved with anger, to be angry, Proverbs 29:9; Isaiah 28:21 followed by לְ against any one, Ezekiel 16:43. Compare Hithpael. (Syr. ܪܓܐܰ id.)

(4) for joy, Jeremiah 33:9.
