אִמַּר pl. אִמְּרִין m. Ch. a lamb, Ezra 6:9, 17 Ezra 6:17, 7:17. Syr. ܐܡܶܪܐܳ. Arab. إِمَّرُ, إِمَّرَةُ a lamb. Root أَمَرَ Conj. I, IV. to make much; أَمرَ to become much; hence, prop. progeny of the flock. It might also be, progeny of the flock, so called from the idea of producing, see under the root אָמַר No. 1.
