(1)  a judge, a magistrate, Isaiah 1:10, 3:6, Micah 3:9 (from the root קָצָה No. 2, Arab. قَاضِى a judge).

(2) a military leader, commander, Joshua 10:24; Judges 11:6, 11 Judges 11:11; Daniel 11:18. Compare שֹׁפֵט.

(3) a prince, Proverbs 6:7, 25:15.
