שָׁלְטָן constr. שָׁלְטַן Chald. dominion, rule. Dan. 3:33 4:19 7:6, 14 6:27, בְּכָל שָׁלְטַן מַלְכוּתִי “in all my dominion.” Plur. kingdoms, 7:27. Arab. سُلْطاَنُ fem. dominion, and concr. lord, king, sultan.
