The idea of ";hostility"; appears in P Petr II. 18(2b).14 (B.C. 246) καὶ ἐπιπεσὼν ἔτυπτεν [αὐ ]τ [ ]ν κατὰ τοῦ τραχήλου : cf. P Flor II. 168.4 (iii/A.D.). In illustration of Mark 3:10 Field Notes, p. 25, aptly cites Thuc. vii. 84 ἄθροοι γὰρ ἀναγκαζόμενοι χωρεῖν ἐπέπιπτόν τε ἀλλήλοις καὶ κατεπάτουν. The subst. ἐπίπτωμα is found in PSI III. 252.28 (iii/A.D. ?) as a medical term; cf. Hobart, p. 44, on the use of the verb in the TR of Acts 13:11.
