Qal Perfect 3 masculine singular וְדָאַג consecutive 1 Samuel 9:5; 1 Samuel 10:2; 2 feminine singular דָּאַגְתְּ Isaiah 57:11; Imperfect 3 masculine singular יִדְאָ֑ג Jeremiah 17:8; אֶדְאַג Psalm 38:19; Participle דֹּאֵג Jeremiah 38:19, דֹּאֲגִים Jeremiah 42:16; —

1 be anxious, concerned, with reference to, in behalf of, with לְ 1 Samuel 9:5; 1 Samuel 10:2; id. with מִן Jeremiah 42:16 (famine personified); followed by מֵחַטָּאתִי Psalm 38:19; be anxious, absolute Jeremiah 17:8 ("" יָרֵא).

דָּאַג prop. i.q. דָּאַד to melt, Greek τήκω. It is applied to terror and fear (comp. מוּנ, מָסַס), to fear, to be afraid, Jeremiah 17:8 followed by an acc. 38:19 Isaiah 57:11 מִן Jeremiah 42:16 also לְ of the person for whom we fear, 1 Samuel 9:5, 10:2 and מִן of the thing, on account of which one is afraid, Psalms 38:19. Hence the following words
