I will greatly rejoice in the Lord , my whole being shall exult in my God; for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation, he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

For as the earth brings forth its shoots, and as a garden causes what is sown in it to spring up, so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring up before all the nations.

You shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord , and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.

For as a young man marries a young woman, so shall your builder marry you, and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.

From ages past no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who works for those who wait for him.

Therefore thus says the Lord God : My servants shall eat, but you shall be hungry; my servants shall drink, but you shall be thirsty; my servants shall rejoice, but you shall be put to shame;

You shall leave your name to my chosen to use as a curse, and the Lord God will put you to death; but to his servants he will give a different name.

Then whoever invokes a blessing in the land shall bless by the God of faithfulness, and whoever takes an oath in the land shall swear by the God of faithfulness; because the former troubles are forgotten and are hidden from my sight.

Shall I open the womb and not deliver? says the Lord ; shall I, the one who delivers, shut the womb? says your God.

Then I said, "Ah, Lord God ! Truly I do not know how to speak, for I am only a boy."

Have you not brought this upon yourself by forsaking the Lord your God, while he led you in the way?

Your wickedness will punish you, and your apostasies will convict you. Know and see that it is evil and bitter for you to forsake the Lord your God; the fear of me is not in you, says the Lord God of hosts.

Though you wash yourself with lye and use much soap, the stain of your guilt is still before me, says the Lord God .

Only acknowledge your guilt, that you have rebelled against the Lord your God, and scattered your favors among strangers under every green tree, and have not obeyed my voice, says the Lord .

A voice on the bare heights is heard, the plaintive weeping of Israel's children, because they have perverted their way, they have forgotten the Lord their God:

Return, O faithless children, I will heal your faithlessness. "Here we come to you; for you are the Lord our God.

Truly the hills are a delusion, the orgies on the mountains. Truly in the Lord our God is the salvation of Israel.

Let us lie down in our shame, and let our dishonor cover us; for we have sinned against the Lord our God, we and our ancestors, from our youth even to this day; and we have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God."

Then I said, "Ah, Lord God , how utterly you have deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, ‘It shall be well with you,' even while the sword is at the throat!"

Then I said, "These are only the poor, they have no sense; for they do not know the way of the Lord , the law of their God.
