But Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"

"If You are the Son of God," he said, "throw Yourself down. For it is written: 'He will command His angels concerning You, and they will lift You up in their hands, so that You will not strike Your foot against a stone.'"

Jesus replied, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'"

"Away from Me, Satan!" Jesus declared. "For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.'"

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.

No one can serve two masters: Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.

"What do You want with us, Son of God?" they shouted. "Have You come here to torture us before the appointed time?"

When the crowds saw this, they were filled with awe and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.

He entered the house of God, and he and his companions ate the consecrated bread, which was not lawful for them to eat, but only for the priests.

But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

Then those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, "Truly You are the Son of God!"

Jesus replied, "And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?

For God said: 'Honor your father and mother' and 'Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.'

But you say that if anyone says to his father or mother, 'The help you would have received from me has been given to God,'

he need not honor his father or mother with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition.

The crowd was amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled restored, the lame walking, and the blind seeing. And they glorified the God of Israel.

Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
