But Jesus looked at them and said to them, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

Then Jesus went into the temple of God [fn] and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves.

Which of the two did the will of his father?" They said to Him, "The first." Jesus said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you that tax collectors and harlots enter the kingdom of God before you.

"Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it.

And they sent to Him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, "Teacher, we know that You are true, and teach the way of God in truth; nor do You care about anyone, for You do not regard the person of men.

They said to Him, "Caesar's." And He said to them, "Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."

Jesus answered and said to them, "You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God.

For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God [fn] in heaven.

But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying,

'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? Exodus 3:6, 15 ">[fn] God is not the God of the dead, but of the living."

Jesus said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' Deuteronomy 6:5">[fn]

And he who swears by heaven, swears by the throne of God and by Him who sits on it.

and said, "This fellow said, "I am able to destroy the temple of God and to build it in three days."'

But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, "I put You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!"

and saying, "You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross."

He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now if He will have Him; for He said, "I am the Son of God."'

And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?" that is, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?" Psalms 22:1">[fn]

So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, "Truly this was the Son of God!"
