And demons also came out of many, crying, "You are the Son of God!" But he rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.

but he said to them, "I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns as well; for I was sent for this purpose."

On one occasion, while the crowd was pressing in on him to hear the word of God, he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret,

And the scribes and the Pharisees began to question, saying, "Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?"

And immediately he rose up before them and picked up what he had been lying on and went home, glorifying God.

And amazement seized them all, and they glorified God and were filled with awe, saying, "We have seen extraordinary things today."

how he entered the house of God and took and ate the bread of the Presence, which is not lawful for any but the priests to eat, and also gave it to those with him?"

In these days he went out to the mountain to pray, and all night he continued in prayer to God.

And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said: "Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.

Fear seized them all, and they glorified God, saying, "A great prophet has arisen among us!" and "God has visited his people!"

I tell you, among those born of women none is greater than John. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he."

(When all the people heard this, and the tax collectors too, they declared God just, having been baptized with the baptism of John,

but the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the purpose of God for themselves, not having been baptized by him.)

Soon afterward he went on through cities and villages, proclaiming and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with him,
