For God did not call us to impurity, but in purity.

Therefore, the one that despises does not despise man, but God, even He giving His Holy Spirit to us.

For you also do it toward the brothers in all Macedonia. But, brothers, we exhort you to abound more.

But I do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who sleep, that you not grieve, as the rest also, not having hope.

But concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need for it to be written.

But you, brothers, are not in darkness, that the Day should overtake you as a thief.

So then, we should not sleep, as the rest also do, but we should watch and be sober.

But we being of day should be sober, "having put on the breastplate" of faith and love, and the hope of "salvation as a helmet;" Isa. 59:17

because God has not appointed us to wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

But, brothers, we entreat you to know those laboring among you, and taking the lead of you in the Lord, and warning you,

See that not any one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue the good, both towards one another and towards all.

that all may be judged, those not believing the truth, but who have delighted in unrighteousness.

But we ought to thank God always concerning you, brothers, beloved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning to salvation in sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth,

But may our Lord Himself, Jesus Christ, and our God and Father, the One having loved us and having given everlasting comfort and good hope by grace,

But the Lord is faithful who will establish and will guard you from the evil.

But we are persuaded in the Lord as to you, that whatever things we have commanded you, you both do and you will do.

nor did we eat bread from anyone as a gift, but by labor and toil, working night and day in order not to burden anyone of you.

Not that we do not have authority, but that we give ourselves as an example to you, for you to act like us.

For we hear some are walking in a disorderly way among you, not working at all, but being busybodies.

But if anyone does not obey our Word through the letter, mark that one, and do not associate with him, that he be shamed.
