A Prayer of David Bow down your ear, O Yahweh, and answer me; For I am poor and needy.

Preserve my soul; for I am godly: O you my God, save your slave that trusts in you.

Be merciful to me, O Lord; For to you do I cry all the day long.

Rejoice the soul of your slave; For to you, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.

For you, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in loving-kindness to all those that call on you.

In the day of my trouble I will call on you; For you will answer me.

For you are great, and do wondrous things: You alone are God.

I will praise you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart; And I will glorify your name for evermore.

For great is your loving-kindness toward me; And you have delivered my soul from the lowest Sheol.

Show me a token for good, That those who hate me may see it, and be put to shame, Because you, Yahweh, have helped me, and comforted me.

For my soul is full of troubles, And my life draws near to Sheol.

For I have said, Mercy shall be built up forever; Your faithfulness you will establish in the very heavens.

For who in the skies can be compared to Yahweh? Who among the sons of the mighty is like Yahweh,

For you are the glory of their strength; And in your favor our horn shall be exalted.

For our shield belongs to Yahweh; And our king to the Holy One of Israel.

My loving-kindness I will keep for him for evermore; And my covenant shall stand fast with him.

Remember me: How short is my lifetime? For what vanity have you created all the sons of man?

Blessed be Yahweh for evermore. Amen, and Amen.
