For we are consumed in your anger, And in your wrath are we troubled.

For all our days are passed away in your wrath: We bring our years to an end as a sigh.

The days of our years are seventy years, Or even by reason of strength eighty years; Yet is their pride but labor and sorrow; For it is soon gone, and we fly away.

For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, And from the word of calamity.

You shall not be afraid for the terror by night, Nor for the arrow that flies by day;

For the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday.

For you, O Yahweh, are my refuge! You have made the Most High your habitation;

For he will give his angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.

A Psalm, a Song for the Sabbath day. It is a good thing to give thanks to Yahweh, And to sing praises to your name, O Most High;

For you, Yahweh, have made me glad through your work: I will triumph in the works of your hands.

But you, O Yahweh, are on high for evermore.

For, look, your enemies, O Yahweh, For, look, your enemies shall perish; All the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.

Your testimonies are very sure: Holiness becomes your house, O Yahweh, for evermore.

That you may give him rest from the days of adversity, Until the pit is dug for the wicked.

For Yahweh will not cast off his people, Neither will he forsake his inheritance.

For judgment shall return to righteousness; And all the upright in heart shall follow it.

Who will rise up for me against the evil-doers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

For Yahweh is a great God, And a great King above all gods.

For he is our God, And we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. Today, oh that you would hear his voice!

For great is Yahweh, and greatly to be praised: He is to be awed above all gods.
