Reproach has broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: And I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; And for comforters, but I found none.

They gave me also gall for my food; And in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.

Let their table before them become a snare; And for the secure ones, [let it become] a trap.

For they persecute him whom you have smitten; And they tell of the sorrow of those whom you have wounded.

For Yahweh hears the needy, And does not despise his prisoners.

For God will save Zion, and build the cities of Judah; And they shall abide there, and have it in possession.

Be to me a rock for my dwelling, to where I may continually resort: You have given commandment to save me; For you are my rock and my fortress.

For you are my hope, O Lord Yahweh: [You are] my trust from my youth.

For my enemies speak concerning me; And those that watch for my soul take counsel together,

Saying, God has forsaken him: Pursue and take him; for there is none to deliver.

My mouth shall tell of your righteousness, [And] of your salvation all the day; For I don't know the numbers [thereof].

My lips shall shout for joy when I sing praises to you; And my soul, which you have redeemed.

My tongue also shall talk of your righteousness all the day long; For they are put to shame, for they are confounded, that seek my hurt.

For he will deliver the needy when he cries, And the poor, that has no helper.

And they shall live; and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: And men shall pray for him continually; They shall bless him all the day long.

But as for me, my feet were almost gone; My steps had well near slipped.

For I was envious at the arrogant, When I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

For there are no pangs in their death; But their strength is firm.

For all the day long I have been plagued, And chastened every morning.
