Then Saul said to his servants, "Find a woman for me who can speak with spirits, that I may go to her and ask her what I should do." His servants said to him, "See, there is a woman at Endor who can speak with spirits."

But the woman said to him, "See, you know what Saul has done. He has put out of the land those who speak with spirits by using their secret ways. Why do you lay a trap for my life to cause my death?"

The king said to her, "Do not be afraid. What do you see?" The woman said to Saul, "I see a god coming up out of the earth."

The woman came to Saul and saw that he was filled with fear. She said to him, "See, your woman servant has obeyed you. I have put my life in danger and have listened to what you said to me.

When David came to Ziklag, he sent some of the things he had taken in battle to the leaders of Judah, his friends. He said, "See, here is a gift for you from what was taken from those who hate the Lord.

He told them to teach the song of the bow to the people of Judah. See, it is written in the book of Jashar.

David said, "Good! I will make an agreement with you. But you must do one thing that I say. You will not see my face unless you first bring Saul's daughter Michal when you come to see me."

Then Joab came to the king and said, "What have you done? See, Abner came to you. Why then have you sent him away, so that he is gone?

David returned to pray that good would come to his family. But Saul's daughter Michal came out to meet him, and said, "How the king of Israel honored himself today! He took his clothes off today so that his servants' young women would see him. He acted like one of the foolish ones taking his clothes off without shame!"

So Amnon lay down and pretended to be sick. When the king came to see him, Amnon said to him, "I beg you, let my sister Tamar come and make two loaves beside me, that I may eat from her hand."
