When David saw the angel who was killing the people, he said to the Lord, "See, it is I who have sinned. It is I who have done wrong. But these sheep, what have they done? I beg You, let Your hand be against me and my father's family."

Now, see, Adonijah is king. And my lord the king, you do not know it.

The king said, ‘Thanks be to the Lord, the God of Israel. He has given one to sit on my throne today while my own eyes see it.'"

Solomon was told, "See, Adonijah is afraid of King Solomon. See, he has taken hold of the horns of the altar, saying, ‘Let King Solomon promise me today that he will not put his servant to death with the sword.'"

See, there is with you Shimei the son of Gera the Benjamite, of Bahurim. It was he who spoke bad words against me on the day I went to Mahanaim. But when he came down to me at the Jordan, I promised him by the Lord, saying, ‘I will not put you to death with the sword.'

But at the end of three years, two of Shimei's servants ran away to Achish the son of Maacah, king of Gath. Shimei was told, "See, your servants are in Gath."

I have done what you said. See, I have given you a wise and understanding heart. No one has been like you before, and there will be no one like you in the future.

"But is it true that God will live on the earth? See, heaven and the highest heaven are not big enough to hold You. How much less this house which I have built!

then hear their prayer and their cry in heaven. See that the right thing is done to them.

then hear their prayer in heaven where You are. See that the right thing is done to them.

May these words of mine, which I have prayed to the Lord, be near to the Lord our God day and night. May He see that the right thing is done to His servant and His people Israel, day by day as we have need.

But when Hiram came out from Tyre to see the cities Solomon had given him, they did not please him.

They came from all over the earth to see Solomon, to hear his wisdom which God had put in his heart.

And he said to Jeroboam, "Take ten pieces for yourself. For the Lord, the God of Israel, says, ‘See, I will tear the nation out of the hand of Solomon and give you ten family groups.

The man cried against the altar by the word of the Lord, and said, "O altar, altar, this is what the Lord says. ‘See, a son will be born to the family of David. His name will be Josiah. On you he will burn the religious leaders of the high places who burn special perfume on you. Human bones will be burned on you.'"

He gave a special thing to be seen the same day. He said, "This is what the Lord says will be seen. ‘See, the altar will be broken in two. And the ashes on it will be poured out.'"

The altar was broken in two and the ashes were poured out. It was the special thing to see that happened just as the man of God said it would by the word of the Lord.

Jeroboam's wife did so. She got ready and went to Shiloh, and came to Ahijah's house. Now Ahijah could not see. His eyes were weak because he was old.

"Let there be an agreement of peace between me and you, as between my father and your father. See, I have sent you a gift of silver and gold. Go and break your agreement of peace with Baasha king of Israel, so that he will leave me."

But she said, "As the Lord your God lives, I have no bread. I only have enough flour in the jar to fill a hand, and a little oil in the jar. See, I am gathering a few sticks so I may go in and make it ready for me and my son. Then we will eat it and die."
