Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?

Can one walk upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?

So is he who goes in to his neighbors wife and touches her; he shall not be innocent.

But if he is caught, he shall pay sevenfold; he shall give all the goods of his house.

But he who commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding, and he destroys his own soul.

And he who does it brings dishonor upon himself; and his reproach shall not be wiped out.

And as a stag whose liver is pierced with an arrow, as a bird hastens to the snare, and does not know that he goes to his death.

The LORD created me as the first of his creations, before all of his works.

When he gave to the sea its bounds, that the waters should not transgress his commandment; when he laid down the foundations of the earth:

I together with him was establishing them; and daily I was his delight, rejoicing always before him,

Rejoicing in his habitable earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.

Correction for a bad man brings disgrace; the wicked man is rebuked by his own blemish.

He who denies things falsely feeds on winds and pursues fowl of the air; for he has forsaken the way to his vineyard and the paths of his labor, to journey in the wilderness without water; in the places that are trodden he travels thirsty and gains nothing.

A WISE son makes his father glad, but a foolish son brings shame to his mother.

He who walks uprightly walks in hope; but he who perverts his ways shall be known.

He who winks with his eyes deceitfully causes sorrow; but he who reproves openly makes peace.

He who brings forth wisdom out of his lips shall beat with a rod him that lacks understanding.

The wicked cannot be delivered by a multitude of words; but he who refrains his lips is wise.

FALSE scales are an abomination to the LORD; but just weights are his delight.

The righteousness of the upright shall direct his way; but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
