For surely you will have a future; and your hope shall not be cut off.

For the drunkard and the gluttonous shall come to poverty; and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.

For a harlot is a deep pit; and a strange woman is a narrow well.

Those who tarry long over the wine; and who search for a place of drinking. Be not drunken with wine, but converse with righteous men; walk and talk with them.

For at the last it bites like a serpent and stings like an adder.

For their hearts devise evil and their lips talk of iniquity.

For by provocation is war waged; and in a multitude of counsels there is salvation.

For a righteous man falls seven times and rises up again; but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

For there shall be no future for evil men, and the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.

For their calamity shall come suddenly; and who knows the end of their years?

The heaven for height, and the earth for depth, and the heart of the king is unsearchable.

For it is better that it be said to you, Come up higher, than that you should be put lower. In the presence of the ruler report what your eyes have seen.

Like the cold of snow in the time of harvest, which cools the air, so is a faithful messenger to those who send him; for he refreshes the soul of his masters.

When you find honey, eat as much as is sufficient for you, lest you be filled with it and vomit it.

For when you shall do these things for him, you will heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD will reward you.

It is not good to eat much honey, nor to search for high praises for oneself.

LIKE snow in summer and like rain in harvest, so honor is not seemly for a fool.

A whip for the horse, a goad for the ass, and a rod for the back of a fool.

Though he speaks in a gentle tone, believe him not; for there are seven abominations in his heart.

BOAST not for tomorrow; for you know not what a day may bring forth.
