That country will become a pile of ruins where wild animals live. It will be a horrible sight; no one will live there, and all who see it will be terrified.

Her people groan as they look for something to eat; They exchange their treasures for food to keep themselves alive. "Look at me, Lord ," the city cries; "see me in my misery."

My heart is grieved when I see what has happened to the women of the city.

Remember, O Lord , what has happened to us. Look at us, and see our disgrace.

We are sick at our very hearts and can hardly see through our tears,
