As for me, I said in my alarm,"I am cut off from before Your eyes";Nevertheless, You heard the voice of my supplicationsWhen I cried to You for help.

Draw also the spear and the battle‑axe to meet those who pursue me;Say to my soul, "I am your salvation."

I was young and now I am old,Yet I have not seen the righteous forsakenOr his seed begging bread.

I am bent over and greatly bowed down;I go mourning all day long.

I am faint and badly crushed;I groan because of the agitation of my heart.

But I, like a deaf man, do not hear;And I am like a mute man who does not open his mouth.

And I am like a man who does not hear,And in whose mouth are no reproofs.

For I am ready to fall,And my sorrow is continually before me.

For I confess my iniquity;I am full of anxiety because of my sin.

"Yahweh, cause me to know my endAnd what is the extent of my days;Let me know how transient I am.

Remove Your plague from me;Because of the opposition of Your hand I am wasting away.

"Hear my prayer, O Yahweh, and give ear to my cry for help;Do not be silent at my tears;For I am a sojourner with You,A foreign resident like all my fathers.

Turn Your gaze away from me, that I may smile againBefore I go and am no more."

For evils beyond number have surrounded me;My iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to see;They are more numerous than the hairs of my head,And my heart has failed me.

As for me, I am afflicted and needy,May the Lord think of me.You are my help and the One who rescues me;Do not delay, O my God.

"Cease striving and know that I am God;I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

"Hear, O My people, and I will speak;O Israel, I will testify against you;I am God, your God.

But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in the house of God;I trust in the lovingkindness of God forever and ever.

Give heed to me and answer me;I am restless in my complaint and am surely distracted,

When I am afraid,I will trust in You.
