He remembers his nobles: they stumble in their march; they hurry to the wall thereof, and the mantelet is prepared.

The lion tore in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his caves with prey, and his dens with ravin.

Then he shall sweep by [as] a wind, and shall pass over, and be guilty, [even] he whose might is his god.

He takes up all of them with the angle, he catches them in his net, and gathers them in his drag: therefore he rejoices and is glad.

Therefore he sacrifices to his net, and burns incense to his drag; because by them his portion is fat, and his food plenteous.

Shall he therefore draw his sword, and not spare to slay the nations continually?

Look, his soul is presumptuous, it is not upright in him; but the righteous shall live by his faith.

And how much more arrogant is a traitor, a haughty [able-bodied] man, that does not keep at home; who enlarges his desire as Sheol, and he is as death, and can't be satisfied, but gathers to himself all nations, and heaps to himself all peoples.

Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, Woe to him that increases that which is not his! how long? and that loads himself with pledges!

Woe to him that gets an evil gain for his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the hand of evil!

Woe to him that gives his neighbor drink, mixing your strong wine, and make him drunk also, that you may look at their nakedness!

But Yahweh is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silent before him.

God came from Teman, And the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, And the earth was full of his praise.

And [his] brightness was as the light; He had rays [coming forth] from his hand; And there was the hiding of his power.

Before him went the pestilence, And fiery bolts went forth at his feet.

He stood, and measured the earth; He looked, and drove apart the nations; And the eternal mountains were scattered; The everlasting hills bowed down; His goings were [as] of old.

You pierced with his own staves the head of his warriors: They came as a whirlwind to scatter me; Their rejoicing was as to devour the poor secretly.

Hold your peace at the presence of the Lord Yahweh; for the day of Yahweh is at hand: for Yahweh has prepared a sacrifice, he has consecrated his guests.

Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of Yahweh's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he will make an end, yes, a terrible end, of all those that dwell in the land.

Seek Yahweh, all you meek of the earth, that have kept his ordinances; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be you will be hid in the day of Yahweh's anger.
