Why do I see them terrified? They have fallen back; their warriors are beaten down, and have fled in haste. They do not look back— terror is all around! says the Lord .

The Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, said: See, I am bringing punishment upon Amon of Thebes, and Pharaoh, and Egypt and her gods and her kings, upon Pharaoh and those who trust in him.

Thus says the Lord : See, waters are rising out of the north and shall become an overflowing torrent; they shall overflow the land and all that fills it, the city and those who live in it. People shall cry out, and all the inhabitants of the land shall wail.

And Jeremiah said to Seraiah: "When you come to Babylon, see that you read all these words,

All her people groan as they search for bread; they trade their treasures for food to revive their strength. Look, O Lord , and see how worthless I have become.

Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by? Look and see if there is any sorrow like my sorrow, which was brought upon me, which the Lord inflicted on the day of his fierce anger.

See, O Lord , how distressed I am; my stomach churns, my heart is wrung within me, because I have been very rebellious. In the street the sword bereaves; in the house it is like death.

when one's case is subverted —does the Lord not see it?

Whether they sit or rise—see, I am the object of their taunt-songs.

Remember, O Lord , what has befallen us; look, and see our disgrace!

See, I have made your face hard against their faces, and your forehead hard against their foreheads.

See, I am putting cords on you so that you cannot turn from one side to the other until you have completed the days of your siege.

Then he said to me, "See, I will let you have cow's dung instead of human dung, on which you may prepare your bread."

Thus says the Lord God : Disaster after disaster! See, it comes.

An end has come, the end has come. It has awakened against you; see, it comes!

See, the day! See, it comes! Your doom has gone out. The rod has blossomed, pride has budded.

He said to me, "Mortal, do you see what they are doing, the great abominations that the house of Israel are committing here, to drive me far from my sanctuary? Yet you will see still greater abominations."

He said to me, "Go in, and see the vile abominations that they are committing here."

Then he said to me, "Mortal, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the dark, each in his room of images? For they say, ‘The Lord does not see us, the Lord has forsaken the land.'"

He said also to me, "You will see still greater abominations that they are committing."
