They will suffer the penalty of eternal destruction, separated from the presence of the Lord and the glory of His might,

on the day He comes to be glorified in His saints and regarded with wonder by all who have believed, including you who have believed our testimony.

To this end, we always pray for you, that our God will count you worthy of His calling, and that He will powerfully fulfill your every good desire and work of faith,

And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will slay with the breath of His mouth and annihilate by the majesty of His arrival.

But for this very reason I was shown mercy, so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display His perfect patience as an example to those who would believe in Him for eternal life.

An overseer must manage his own household well and keep his children under control, with complete dignity.

For if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how can he care for the church of God?

A deacon must be the husband of but one wife, a good manager of his children and of his own household.

If anyone does not provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

For the Scripture says, "Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain," and, "The worker is worthy of his wages."

I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who made the good confession in His testimony before Pontius Pilate:

which God will bring about in His own time-He who is blessed and the only Sovereign One, the King of kings and Lord of lords.

So do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, or of me, His prisoner. Instead, join me in suffering for the gospel by the power of God.

He has saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works, but by His own purpose and by the grace He granted us in Christ Jesus before time eternal.

May the Lord grant Onesiphorus His mercy on that day. You know very well how much he ministered to me in Ephesus.

The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive his share of the crops.

Nevertheless, God's firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord must turn away from iniquity."

Then they will come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, who has taken them captive to his will.

I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of His appearing and His kingdom:

From now on the crown of righteousness is laid up for me, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but to all who crave His appearing.
