but when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they did not break his legs:

nevertheless one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and immediately there came out blood and water.

And he that has seen has borne witness, and his witness is true: and he knows that he says true, that you also may believe.

And after these things Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked of Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave [him] leave. He came therefore, and took away his body.

and the napkin, that was on his head, not lying with the linen cloths, but rolled up in a place by itself.

And when he had said this, he showed to them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad, when they saw the Lord.

The other disciples therefore said to him, We have seen the Lord. But he said to them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will in no way believe.

And after eight days again his disciples were inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus comes, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace [be] to you.

Many other signs therefore Jesus did in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:

but these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in his name.

There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the [sons] of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples.

That disciple therefore whom Jesus loved says to Peter, It is the Lord. So when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girded his coat about him (for he was naked), and cast himself into the sea.

Peter, turning about, sees the disciple whom Jesus loved following; who also leaned back on his breast at the supper, and said, Lord, who is he that betrays you?

This is the disciple that bears witness of these things, and that wrote these things: and we know that his witness is true.

To whom he also showed himself alive after his passion by many proofs, appearing to them by the space of forty days, and speaking the things concerning the kingdom of God:

And he said to them, It is not for you to know times or seasons, which the Father has set in his own authority.

These all with one accord continued steadfastly in prayer, with the women, and [with] Mary the mother of Jesus, and [with] his brothers.

For he was numbered among us, and received his portion in this service.

(Now this man obtained a field with the wages of his iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst apart in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.

For it is written in the book of Psalms, "Let his habitation be made desolate, And let no man dwell therein." And, "His office of oversight let another take."
