And this is the confidence which we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.

If any one sees his brother committing what is not a mortal sin, he will ask, and God will give him life for those whose sin is not mortal. There is sin which is mortal; I do not say that one is to pray for that.

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, to know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

And this is love, that we follow his commandments; this is the commandment, as you have heard from the beginning, that you follow love.

for he who greets him shares his wicked work.

For they have set out for his sake and have accepted nothing from the heathen.

And not content with that, he refuses himself to welcome the brethren, and also stops those who want to welcome them and puts them out of the church. Beloved, do not imitate evil but imitate good. He who does good is of God; he who does evil has not seen God. Deme'trius has testimony from every one, and from the truth itself; I testify to him too, and you know my testimony is true. I had much to write to you, but I would rather not write with pen and ink; 14 I hope to see you soon, and we will talk together face to face. [fn] Peace be to you! (Good-bye!)
