Therefore he that rejects, rejects not man, but God, who also gives his Holy Spirit to you.

and to you that are afflicted rest with us, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with the angels of his power in flaming fire,

who shall suffer punishment, [even] eternal destruction from the face of the Lord and from the glory of his might,

when he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at in all those that believed (because our testimony to you was believed) in that day.

And now you know that which restrains, to the end that he may be revealed in his own season.

And then shall be revealed the lawless one, whom the Lord Jesus shall slay with the breath of his mouth, and bring to nothing by the manifestation of his coming;

I thank him that enabled me, [even] Christ Jesus our Lord, for that he counted me faithful, appointing me to [his] service;

nevertheless for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me as chief might Jesus Christ show forth all his long-suffering, for an example of those that should thereafter believe on him to eternal life.

one that rules well his own house, having [his] children in subjection with all gravity;

(but if a man doesn't know how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

But if any does not provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.

For the scripture says, You shall not muzzle the ox when he treads out the corn. And, The worker is worthy of his wages.

Therefore don't be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but suffer hardship with the gospel according to the power of God;

who saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before eternal times,

Nevertheless the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, The Lord knows those that are his: and, Let every one that names the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness.

and they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to his will.

I charge [you] in the sight of God, and of Christ Jesus, who shall judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom:

from now on there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give to me at that day; and not to me only, but also to all those that have loved his appearing.

Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord will render to him according to his works:

The Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will save me to his heavenly kingdom: to whom [be] the glory forever and ever. Amen.
