You see that faith was working with his works, and by works was faith made perfect;

Who is wise and understanding among you? let him show, by his good life, his works in meekness of wisdom.

Don't speak one against another, brothers. He that speaks against a brother, or judges his brother, speaks against the law, and judges the law: but if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law, but a judge.

let him know, that he who converts a sinner from the error of his way shall save his soul from death, and shall cover a multitude of sins.

Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy begot us again to a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

But you are an elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for [God's] own possession, that you may show forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

For hereunto were you called: because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps:

who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

who his own self bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed.

For, He that would love life, And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips that they speak no guile:

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And his ears to their supplication: But the face of the Lord is on those that do evil.

but insomuch as you are partakers of Christ's sufferings, rejoice; that at the revelation of his glory also you may rejoice with exceeding joy.

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little while, shall himself restore, establish, strengthen, [and] firmly set [you].

seeing that his divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that called us by his own glory and virtue;

whereby he has granted to us his precious and exceeding great promises; that through these you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in that world by desire.

For he that lacks these things is blind, seeing only what is near, having forgotten the cleansing from his old sins.

For we did not follow cunningly devised fables, when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

(for that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed [his] righteous soul from day to day with [their] lawless deeds):

but he was rebuked for his own transgression: a mute donkey spoke with man's voice and stayed the madness of the prophet.

It has happened to them according to the true proverb, The dog turning to his own vomit again, and the sow that had washed to wallowing in the mire.
