No one serving in the military gets mixed up in civilian matters, for his aim is to please his commanding officer.1 Corinthians 9:25;">[xr]

Our faith may fail, his never wanesNumbers 23:19; Romans 3:3; 9:6;">[xr] - For thus he is, he cannot change!he cannot deny himself">[fn]

and gentle in refuting his opponents. After all, maybe God will allow them to repent and to come to a full knowledge of the truth,Acts 8:22; Galatians 6:1; 1 Timothy 2:4; 6:11; 2 Timothy 3:7; Titus 1:1; 1 Peter 3:15;">[xr]

so that they might escape from the devil's snare, even though they've been held captive by him to do his will.1 Timothy 3:7;">[xr]

In the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who is going to judge those who are living and those who are dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I solemnly appeal to youActs 10:42; 1 Timothy 5:21; 6:13; 2 Timothy 2:14;">[xr]

The victor's crown of righteousness is now waiting for me, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who eagerly wait for his appearing.1 Corinthians 9:25; 2 Timothy 1:12; James 1:12; 1 Peter 5:4; Revelation 2:10;">[xr]

The Lord will rescue me from every evil attackevil work">[fn] and will take me safely towill preserve me for">[fn] his heavenly kingdom. Glory belongs to him forever and ever! Amen.Psalm 121:7; Romans 11:36; Galatians 1:5; Hebrews 13:21;">[xr]

At the right time he revealed his message through the proclamation that was entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior.1 Thessalonians 2:4; 1 Timothy 1:1,11; 2:3; 4:10; 2 Timothy 1:10;">[xr]

An elder must beIf anyone is">[fn] blameless. He must be the husband of one wifedevoted to his wife ; lit. a man of one woman">[fn] and have children who are believers and who are not accused of having wild lifestyles or of being rebellious.1 Timothy 3:2,4, 12;">[xr]

However,1 Timothy 2:3; Titus 2:11;">[xr] In grace our Savior God appeared, His love for mankind to make clear.

'Twas not for deeds that we had done,John 3:3,5; Romans 3:20; 9:11; 11:6; Galatians 2:16; Ephesians 2:4,8-9,5; 5:26; 2 Timothy 1:9; 1 Peter 3:21;">[xr] But by his steadfast lovehis mercy">[fn] alone, He saved us through a second birth, Renewed us by the Spirit'sthe Holy Spirit's">[fn] work,

And so, made right by his own grace,Romans 3:24; 8:23-24; Galatians 2:16; Titus 1:2; 2:11;">[xr] Eternal life we now embrace.we have become heirs according to the hope of eternal life">[fn]

He is the reflection[fn] of God's glory and the exact likeness of his being, and he holds everything together by his powerful word. After he had provided a cleansing from sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Highest Majesty[xr]

For to which of the angels did God[fn] ever say, "You are my Son. Today I have become your Father"?[fn] Or again, "I will be his Father, and he will be my Son"?[fn][xr]

And again, when he brings[fn] his firstborn into the world, he says, "Let all God's angels worship him."[fn][xr]

Now about the angels he says, "He makes his angels winds, and his servants flames of fire."[fn][xr]

while God added his testimony through signs, wonders, various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.Mark 16:20; Acts 2:22,43; 14:3; 19:11; Romans 15:18-19; 1 Corinthians 2:4; Ephesians 1:5,9;">[xr]

and put everything under his feet."Psalm 8:5-7 (LXX)">[fn]Matthew 28:18; 1 Corinthians 15:25,27; Ephesians 1:22; Hebrews 1:13;">[xr] Now when Godhe">[fn] put everything under him, he left nothing outside his control. However, at the present time we do not yet see everything put under him.
