See, the Lord your God has set the land before you. Go up, take possession, as the Lord , the God of your fathers, has told you. Do not fear or be dismayed.'

‘Not one of these men of this evil generation shall see the good land that I swore to give to your fathers,

except Caleb the son of Jephunneh. He shall see it, and to him and to his children I will give the land on which he has trodden, because he has wholly followed the Lord !'

Please let me go over and see the good land beyond the Jordan, that good hill country and Lebanon.'

But charge Joshua, and encourage and strengthen him, for he shall go over at the head of this people, and he shall put them in possession of the land that you shall see.'

See, I have taught you statutes and rules, as the Lord my God commanded me, that you should do them in the land that you are entering to take possession of it.

And beware lest you raise your eyes to heaven, and when you see the sun and the moon and the stars, all the host of heaven, you be drawn away and bow down to them and serve them, things that the Lord your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole heaven.

And there you will serve gods of wood and stone, the work of human hands, that neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.

Out of heaven he let you hear his voice, that he might discipline you. And on earth he let you see his great fire, and you heard his words out of the midst of the fire.

"See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse:

Take care that you do not offer your burnt offerings at any place that you see,

just as you desired of the Lord your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly, when you said, ‘Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God or see this great fire any more, lest I die.'

"When you go out to war against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and an army larger than your own, you shall not be afraid of them, for the Lord your God is with you, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.

and they shall testify, ‘Our hands did not shed this blood, nor did our eyes see it shed.

and you see among the captives a beautiful woman, and you desire to take her to be your wife,

"You shall not see your brother's ox or his sheep going astray and ignore them. You shall take them back to your brother.

You shall not see your brother's donkey or his ox fallen down by the way and ignore them. You shall help him to lift them up again.

Because the Lord your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you and to give up your enemies before you, therefore your camp must be holy, so that he may not see anything indecent among you and turn away from you.

And all the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord , and they shall be afraid of you.

so that you are driven mad by the sights that your eyes see.
