But don't use your sense of safety to stagnate. Use it to grow closer to Jesus and get to know him better and better. Make him your best pard and you'll be amazed by the outcome. God gets the glory, now and forever.

But if we admit our sins to God, he will do what he said he would and forgive us and pardon us of all wrongdoing.

If we claim we have not sinned, then we are calling God a liar because he said we are all sinners. To make this claim proves we do not ride for Him.
1 John 2:1

The point of this letter is so you will turn loose of your sins. But just in case we fall off and do sin, we have someone who is pleading our case on our behalf before God. That man is Jesus Christ, the only perfect man to ever live—and he is on our side!
1 John 2:5

But if we conduct our lives like God says to, that means we love him. This is how to know if you are really riding for him or not:
1 John 2:6

if you ride for God, ride the way Jesus did.

I write to you kids because you know the Boss. I write to you fathers because you know the one who was there in the beginning. I write to you young people because you are tough. The word of God rides with you and in you, and you have defeated the devil.
1 John 2:15

Don't love anything in the world or that comes from it. You have to choose between loving the world and what it has to offer or loving God and what he has to offer.
1 John 2:16

All this stuff most people cherish and hold on to—sinful desires, material things, and everything else like fame, fortune, and pride—none of it comes from God. Those are all worldly things and will get you destroyed.
1 John 2:17

This entire world is gripped in the throes of death. This world's desires are passing away like paper in a fire. But those who ride for God will live forever.
1 John 2:22

Then where do the lies come from? The lies come from those who say Jesus is not who he says he is. These people are the real enemies of Christ. They spit in the face of God and the Son with their lies.
1 John 2:23

You can't ride for God while rejecting his Son. You don't get one without the other.
1 John 3:1

God has showered us with his love like a spring rain on dry ground. He loves us so much he calls us his own kids. And if God says it, it is so. That's why the world treats us like it does. The world doesn't know God and doesn't know us.
1 John 3:2

Listen up, cowboys. We've been adopted by God himself, but we don't know just what this entails yet. But we do know this, when Jesus comes riding back, we will be made like him. We'll see him for who he really is and we will see ourselves as we were meant to be, not as we were.
1 John 3:9

Those who ride for God don't continue to sin intentionally. If you ride for God, then you become like God because he is your Boss. God doesn't sin and neither should you.
1 John 3:10
