Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise your God, O Zion.

Let them exalt God with their throats, and with a two-edged sword in their hand,

PRAISE the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in the firmament of his power.

Then you will understand how to worship the LORD and find the knowledge of God.

Who has forsaken the mother of her youth and forgotten the covenant of her God.

So you shall find favor, grace, and understanding in the sight of God and men.

He who closes his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry to God, but he shall not answer him.

If you say, Behold, I did not know it, then know that it is God who searches the thought of the heart; and he who keeps your soul knows it, and shall render to every man according to his works.

It is the glory of God to keep secret a matter; but the glory of the king is to search it out.

He who hides his transgression shall not prosper; but he who confesses his sins and forsakes them, God will have mercy upon him.

Every word of God is pure; he is a shield to those who put their trust in him.

Lest I be full, and lie, and say, Who is the LORD? Or lest I be poor and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.

And I gave my heart to seek to search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven; to be engaged in it is a difficult task that God has given to the sons of men.

For, to a man who is good in his presence, God gives wisdom and knowledge and joy; but to the sinner he gives toil, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him who is good in the presence of the LORD. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit,

That which is now, already has been; and that which is to be, has already been; and God will avenge him who has been persecuted.

I said in my heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked; for there is a time for every purpose and for every work.

I meditated in my heart concerning the estate of the sons of men whom God had created, and saw that they are like beasts.

LET your conduct be seemly when you go to the house of God; and to draw near to hear is better than the gift offerings of fools; for they know not to do that which is good.

Be not rash with your mouth, and let not your heart be hasty to utter a word before God; for God is in heaven, and you upon earth; therefore let your words be few.

When you vow a vow to God, do not delay in fulfilling it; for he has no pleasure in fools; but as for you, pay that which you have vowed.
