a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born at-South New Market,N. H., March 17, 1818. He was converted while attending the Wesleyan University, where he graduated in 1842. The two following years he was employed as principal of an academy at Norwich, Conn.; the next year as theological teacher at Andover; and then as teacher in the New Hampshire Conference Seminary. In 1846 he entered the New England Conference. In 1859 he travelled for his health, and died in San Francisco, Aug. 27, 1860. Mr. Adams was modest, cheerful, cultured in mind and spirit, and devout.
