Beausobre, Isaac de

a French Protestant theologian, son of Isaac, was born at Dessau, March 24, 1690. In 1713 he was appointed preacher to the French congregation at Buchholz, near Berlin. In 1715 he accepted a call to Hamburg, but he soon returned to Berlin, where he died, March 10, 1753, as pastor of the French congregation and member of the Academy of Sciences. He published Le Triomphe de l'Innocence (Berlin, 1761); being a defence of the French Reformed Christians against their opponents. He also edited from his father's writings, Supplenent a l'Histoire de la Guerre des Hussites (Geneva, 1745): Sermons sur le xii chap. de l'Epitre aux Romains (Lausanne, 1744): Sermons sur la Resurrection de Lazare (1751).
