(Lat. Bornitius), JOHANN ERNST, a Protestant theologian of Germany, was born at Meissen, in Saxony, April 12, 1622. He studied at Wittenberg, and died Nov. 14, 1645. He is the author of De Characterum Judaicorum Antiquitate (Wittenberg, 1643): Exercit. Philol. ad c. iv Genes. Comrm. Ult. (ibid. eod.): De מיתות s.
