a German philosopher, was born at Breslau, September 18, 1792. In 1826 he was appointed professor extraordinarius of philosophy at the university of his native city; in 1833, professor ordinarius; and died June 2, 1873. He wrote, Ueber Schleiermacher's Glaubenslehre, ein kritisher Versuch (Berlin, 1825): — Grundriss der Logik (Breslau, 1830): — System der Metaphysik (1834): — Geschichte der Philosophic seit Kant (1837): — Wissenschaftliche Aufgabe der Gegenwart (1848).
