an English Wesleyan minister, was born at Chester-le-Street, Durham, June 8, 1808. He was converted in his thirteenth year, while at school at Houghton-le-Spring. In 1832 he received his first appointment. In 1846 he was laid aside by affliction. He died at Workingtoll, Cumberland, February 11, 1856. He was studious and devoted.
